Spectrum-NET is the Industry’s First to Drive the Resolution of Uplink RGI via Network Optimizations

June 29, 2022 – KIRKLAND, WA — Spectrum Effect® announced today the introduction of its new Spectrum-NET RGI Module, the industry’s first solution capable of distinguishing RAN Generated Interference from other sources of uplink interference through the analysis of performance data.

RAN Generated Interference (RGI) is caused by overshooting cells, insufficient separation between antennas, imbalanced traffic load among layers, or misconfigured parameters. Operators had been blind to uplink RGI, which accounts for more than 25% of the uplink RF interference affecting mobile networks globally. RGI is on the rise with increasing traffic load.

Spectrum-NET is the industry’s leading solution for the automated AI-driven analysis of RF interference, enabling operators to rapidly and effectively mitigate sources of RF interference.

“With our new Spectrum-NET RGI Module, operators are now equipped to immediately differentiate RGI from other types of uplink RF interference with high accuracy,“ commented Spectrum Effect CTO, Eamonn Gormley. “Our root cause analysis then pinpoints the sources of RGI, guiding operators with the targeted actions to quickly resolve RGI and improve network performance.”
