Recent regulatory approvals and rapid advances in safety and cost efficiency have major drone operators flying fleets in cities across the US, with expansion planned well beyond today’s test markets. US fleets are projected to pass 1M drones by 2029.
The problem is that mobile networks were built for people on the ground. At 300-400 feet, a drone is above the trees and buildings, hears many towers at once, and hands over every 3-6 seconds.
