December 7, 2020 – KIRKLAND, WA — Spectrum Effect®, a pioneer in RF spectrum analytics, today announced the latest release of its AI-driven RF interference mitigation solution, Spectrum-NET.

With Spectrum Effect’s state-of-the-art Spectrum-NET software solution, mobile operators are addressing RF interference within their networks in new and more effective ways. Spectrum-NET automatically, continuously and seamlessly analyzes RF interference for all cellular RF bands across multi-vendor UMTS, LTE and 5G NR networks. Spectrum-NET utilizes deep machine learning neural network models trained with labeled interference data and other network data for interference classification. Spectrum-NET is a web-based, cloud-ready, highly scalable solution that virtualizes traditionally manually intensive RF interference analysis, test and measurement functions.

Earlier releases of Spectrum-NET provided updates to interference events across an entire mobile network on a daily basis. With this latest Spectrum-NET general availability software release, updates to interference events are now made for each reporting period (ROP). While RAN vendors and operators support ROPs of 15 minutes to one hour, it is expected that the rate could be accelerated to the order of seconds in the future. The Spectrum-NET expedited reporting feature can trigger closed-loop changes to network parameters to minimize the impact of RF interference.

“The latest advancement in the planned evolution of Spectrum-NET is vital for its application as the RF interference engine in leading operators’ next generation automation frameworks,” commented Spectrum Effect CEO, Charles Immendorf.
