As a System Engineer, you will help create transformational technologies and solutions that automatically detect, characterize, aggregate, classify and locate anomalous interference sources within mobile operator networks. Responsibilities shall include use case studies, algorithm design, product feature design, operating Spectrum-NET in live mobile operator networks. Multiple openings for this position are available and candidates from junior to more senior levels of experience will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform system analysis and design of Spectrum-NET roadmap concepts for LTE, LTE-Advanced and 5G NR networks, with an emphasis on intellectual property creation.
  • Define new system requirements for Spectrum-NET.
  • Work with other systems engineering team members on the creation of algorithms through analysis of performance counters and other network data.
  • Work with other systems engineering team members on feature requirements and value creation via integration of Spectrum-NET with partner solutions.
  • Work with software development teams and actively contribute to the implementation of Spectrum-NET features.
  • Characterize behavior and performance of new features in lab and live network environments.
  • Operate Spectrum-NET in field trials, analyze interference events and prepare and present trial reports.
  • Analyze large data sets to identify opportunities for further improvement of Spectrum-NET capabilities.
  • Write technical documents and papers specifying technical requirements, solutions, and product goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • LTE and 5G NR RF network optimization and troubleshooting processes knowledge and experience with Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson and/or Samsung RAN Products.
  • Experience with radio propagation planning and radio parameter optimization for cellular networks.
  • Experience in analyzing and identifying source of interference, troubleshooting and optimization of Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson and/or Samsung based LTE and/or 5G NR networks.
  • Candidate will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills in the areas of critical thinking, data analysis, research and problem solving.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of machine learning techniques and its applications is considered a plus.
  • Working knowledge of 3GPP standards.
  • Excellent written and communications skills in English.
  • Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: MATLAB, Python (with Numpy, Pandas).
  • Eligible to work in Mexico and travel internationally (<10%). This job opening is for our Monterrey, Mexico office.
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
